Classroom@KPMG

Earlier this week, we went into KPMG for a Classroom@KPMG day! We haven't had many opportunities to do this in recent years because of limitations with Covid-19. We had a fantastic day. Check out this movie of our day!

Thank you so much to KPMG and all of the people who took time out of their busy schedules to spend the day with us!

Pōhutu: To make a splash

Our Whale Tail, Pōhutu is completed and currently living down at Te Oro in Glen Innes. Here are some videos to show the progress towards the completed tail. Thanks to Tāmaki Regeneration for sponsoring our tail! We have loved being part of this creative event!

Year 3 Photo Stories

Year 3 have been creating photo stories this term on their iPads using lego characters. They have been taking photos to tell a story. They have then learned how to edit their photos using the photos app on the iPad. Finally, they have recorded themselves telling their story. Here is a great example by Olivia in Room 21.

Kapai, Olivia! Keep up the awesome work!

We have a teleprompt!

Today was an exciting day for the PENN crew! We had a teleprompt arrive from Australia! Since covid has stopped us being able to film indoors, we have found it challenging to read from a script as we have to hold the laptop up above the camera. We had our first go filming today using the teleprompt, which reflects the script directly in front of the camera!

Here we were trying it out while the camera wasn't rolling.

Lesson learned from today: The glass needs to be TOTALLY smudge-free before we begin filming to insure the image is clear and blemish free.

We look forward to having this as part of our set up from now on!

Whale Tales 2022

We have been fortunate enough to have had Tāmaki Regeneration sponsor us with a mini whale tail for the Whale Tales art trail!

In the first couple of weeks of term, classes from across the school participated by designing tails!

The Year 7 & 8 extension children then decided on their favourite designs. Ezekiel and Matelita, from year 7 & 8, had their designs chosen.

Ezekiel and Matelita then combined their designs before pencilling the final design onto the sculpture!

Our tail is looking amazing! Ezekiel's and Matelita's next step is now to begin painting the tail.
