Bike Track Opening!

Today we had the opening of our new bike track at school! There are some amazing people who have helped this project to happen, including Dimension Data, Variety, Auckland Transport, and Bikes in schools!

We all gathered out on the field for the special occasion. 



After some welcomes, speeches, waiata, and karakia, some students were fitted with helmets and bikes, cut the ribbon, and rode the first loop around the track! 


We would like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has made this possible. We are very excited about getting out on the track for the first time!

    hi my name is Christina i go to Wesley primary school i very like your photos about your bike opening track i remember when i had a bike and we were ridding around the tracks.     hi my name is Alipate i go to Wesley primary school i very like your photos about your bike opening track i remember when the first opening of the love lock track.And i ran around dear when i use to live in Roskill and it was like a new skate park.And we are doing that to but were not making a park were making space for people can ride there bikes and scooters Thank you and plz cheak out my blog alipatev@blogspot.co.nz and thank you once again

    Hi my name is Anaseini and i go to Wesley primary school I liked how you all where wearing your uniform in red and also the red hats that you guys did. it looks beautiful. It reminded me of we did the fun run but didn't use bikes. have you thought about spreading the tracks out cause if there was no tracks then they will all bunch up together and
    fall. but where talking about the bikes though.

      Hi John,

      We are really excited about putting a video up here once we go out on the track as a class. We might even be able to use a GoPro to get some really cool footage! A couple of the students from room 10 have had a chance to go on the track during lunchtimes this week - they have had so much fun!

    hi im viliami and i am a student from room 3 in wesley primary school. i really like how you guys made a bike track so people can see others riding around. 9 also liked how you prinounsed the words that you were saying and i wish that my school had a bike track but we are not allowed to have one.keep telling us how you guys made the bike track and show us the in instructions plzz

    You guys are so lucky! It's great to see that the bike track is up and running. Are you using it during morning tea and lunchtime? Where are you storing all the children's bikes?

    I am so impressed with how many comments you have got on this blogpost. The bike track opening looks like it was an amazing event! How exciting to be one of the first to bike around the loop. I hope you have all had a turn now. I wonder if you'll get faster and faster at biking the loop. Have you thought about having time trials? It would be good to collate your times and see if you do improve.
