Camp 2019
What a fun week we had at camp last week! For some of our year 5s, this was the first time they had been away from home! We stayed in tents on our school field for two nights:
The teachers all arrived before sunrise on Wednesday morning, to begin setting up the tents. This beautiful sunrise made the early morning well worth it! Don't we live in the most beautiful place?!
We did so many fantastic activities and everyone participated and had a great three days! Keep an eye out for our movie which will show some more of the footage from camp.

Mr Burt, along with a group of fantastic year 8s and whānau, took us kayaking down at the beach:
Mr Jacobsen taught us how to play cycloball:

Cave Art Animations
Check out these animations created by some of the children in Ako 3 this term! Kahurangi created an amusing and creative animation. Austin's animation included amazing detail and thought into the movement of the characters.

Film Festival Movie 2018: Life @ School
Have you heard of David Attenborough? He explores creatures in their natural habitats.
Kahurangi recently decided to try out what it would be like to be David Attenborough. He explored the creatures found around Pt England!
In this movie, Room 10 will reveal the extraordinary creatures and unusual behaviours that bring school to life! The unexpected...the unimaginable...from Rooms 9 & 10 productions comes...

Te Wā Toi
We have been working on our final pieces of aboriginal artwork. After researching some aboriginal stories, we came up with our own stories which we wanted to tell through art. We used dye to create our backgrounds. We are now starting to add the aboriginal symbols onto our backgrounds to tell our various stories!
Here are some photos of us creating our backgrounds. Check in soon to find out how we created our aboriginal symbols and to see our final works of art!

Wet the teacher!
Today in Team 4, the teachers put themselves on the line, dressed in an array of swimming accessories and prepared to get hit by a number of wet sponges. Little did the teachers know that they would also have the buckets of cold water tipped over them! This was all much to the amusement of the team 4 children!
Stay tuned for some of our awesome writing. In the meantime, see what we got up to in the photos below!
